This week I took a trip back to the 1980’s art movement Impressionism at the National Gallery of Singapore. 'Century of Light' featured two exhibitions, Colours of Impressionism which told the story of Impressionism following a VIBGYOR-like palette symbolic of the colours that painters used at different stages in their careers from Monet and Renoir to Manet and Cézanne; Between Worlds exemplified the works of South-east Asian artist’s Raden Saleh and Juan Luna, drawing a parallel of perspectives and techniques to that of their European counterparts.
